I can't find a simple answer. And that is, it is worth using the vortex.
I can't find it anywhere if it's really worth using, I know months after release I saw people say it's still not worth switching to or something.
But it is 08/30/2019. and i'm a nexus mod manager user and it's been a while since someone says ok your account was created last year bite me i lost my first account i'm not even sure what email i used
But should I switch to vortex?
Also, don't even mention the mod organizer because for me it sucks, sometimes it works a bit silly and I see so many tutorials about it that I'm tired of it.
And if this is not in the right place, I'm sorry.
(I'm going to copy and paste this here because I didn't know you couldn't have multiple accounts, sorry to all the admins)
(my other account got banned because I had multiple accounts, I really didn't know, sorry anyway, I'm on my original account now and I need this answer more than my own life right now)

Use vortex. It's better overall and works great. However, it works differently than nmm, so it will take a bit of learning to get used to it. It has a built-in knowledge base that can help, as well as a group of people here who can help you if you run into any issues.

I agree with Dr. Kaizeld.
There is only one thing. If you are now playing the NMM-managed game, my advice is to stick with it. Exporting a configuration from NMM to Vortex can sometimes cause problems.
But for a new game setup, in my opinion, there is no better manager than Vortex. After a bit of learning easy to use, easy and fast to switch between profiles and games, and very secure.

Most of the problems back then stemmed from Vortex being a legitimate mess. It was released to the public as an alpha around March of last year, and many people, for some reason, expected the software to run smoothly. Despite articles (which they should have read) stating there will be problems and they shouldn't use it unless you don't mind using an alpha program and reporting bugs. Then it was officially released as a beta version in August and a lot of new people started using it, but the problem is that they tried and forced it like using other mod managers (either NMM or Mod Organizer) in Vortex.
As long as you're willing to learn how to use the software correctly, you won't have as many problems as other people.
For example. Vortex relies on LOOT to deliver the add-on order. With NMM, you can drag and drop plugins without much visual issues (but textures not being changed at the same time as reordering means the mod may not work correctly). This also gave the user a sense of installation order. Where the order of the mod files (textures, meshes, sounds...etc) depends on the installation order.
With Mod Organizer, you can manage the order of mod files and plugins by dragging and dropping and it shows up nicely in a red/green plus sign so you know if the mod is being replaced by something or if it replaces another mod. But this granular control of mod files, coupled with the ability to modify plugins on the fly, has given users the impression that they (especially plugins) need to be placed directly after the conflict to work well.
Vortex, on the other hand, uses the idea of classifying things based on conflict and only conflict. Which makes a lot of sense in the long run. After all, why would you have to worry about prioritizing a sound mod if it doesn't play across all three dozen texture/mesh mods? Why should you care about a plugin's placement affecting weight if it doesn't affect the placement of items in the world, lighting changes, and other environmental changes?
As far as problems, in the last few months, at least on Reddit, a lot of the problems I've seen are coming from people importing NMM mods, not uninstalling NMM mods and cleaning before using Vortex. Then keep NMM open while installing and commanding from Vortex, before closing Vortex and then NMM. Which means plugins are still relying on the NMM list and complaining that Vortex is breaking the game. Or some version of it. Which is very frustrating because then they posted saying "Oh, MO2 works perfectly, but I also did the proper NMM uninstall procedure, I completely removed NMM from my computer before opening MO2." So... basically the same thing that was needed for Vortex to work? Gentle.
That, or they hate Vortex's UI (or say, "Oh, Vortex doesn't have that feature, but MO2 does." And that's a bunch of bullshit. Vortex probably had that feature years ago, but why did they use Vortex? when it was Alpha or ran away from what other people said when they used the Alpha version, they think nothing has changed It's true that Vortex is missing some features from MO2, but it's probably less than three at this point, and the same could be backwards. But it's definitely not as much as people say it is.)
Gah, sorry for complaining. As you probably realize, I've been pretty frustrated with Reddit users when it comes to Vortex. And it doesn't help that there are people on there who immediately downvote if it looks like Vortex is getting even the slightest bit of praise, and downvote anyone who says anything bad about it (even if everything said is a lie or didn't happen anymore). from last year).
Edit: missing a word >.>'.

This information is usually found on the STICKY or description page of the mods you are installing, so it is imperative that you read it.
Also, in Vortex, you don't have to worry about "Overwrite or not to overwrite", when it comes to installing mods, you can install them in any order you want, then Vortex will let you know if you have any file conflicts, and THAT'S IT, that's where you can decide what to replace or get replaced, and even better, if you replace the wrong things, you don't have to uninstall and reinstall in the correct order as NMM forces you to do.
Instead, all you have to do is change your rules from "LOAD BEFORE" to "LOAD AFTER" or vice versa and Vortex will take care of restoring and replacing the files automatically.

Looks like Nexus is forcing Vortex on everyone now. NMM wasn't even logged in anymore so I couldn't download anything.
Now I'm stuck with this Vortex crap that doesn't even seem to work. I think I have to go through all my mods one by one and reactivate them, but this Vortex crap doesn't even handle them anymore. Why use that when I can go through the same hassle with the built in mod manager that F4 has?
[edit] I found NMM updated by the community. Unfortunately, the dumpsterfire that is Vortex still disabled all my mods. I think I'll have to enable them all and watch F4 crash a thousand times while I try to figure out which mods I disabled. Thanks, Nexus!

If you're going to comment at least use FACTS.
Nexus doesn't FORCE Vortex on anyone, you can still download NMM from GitHub, an updated version that works with the News API.
All you have to do is click the INSTALL VORTEX button at the top of every Nexus page, then scroll down to where the DOWNLOAD NMM buttons are.
If you bothered to read the Knowledge Base, you'd know that you can CTRL+A and click ACTIVATE ALL instead of doing it one by one, but people like you like to complain instead of LEARN.
Every time someone comes here calling Vortex "trash" etc. ALWAYS ends up being USER ERROR
