To start the list of some of the best spots in Bruges, why not go ahead? Not only does Pomperlut serve some of the best five-star food in town, but the restaurant's decor is definitely something else. It is described as a "throwback to a 17th century fairy tale". It's definitely an intimate experience and you won't be disappointed with the amazing food. They serve traditional Belgian and French dishes and the cozy atmosphere is only the tip of the iceberg. It is quite an expensive place so this might not suit the budget traveller.

This is for all the live music lovers out there. With many artists and musicians not only from Belgium but from all over Europe, this quaint little cafe is amazing, located in a building built in the 14th century. There is a wide selection of coffee, cocktails and of course delicious Belgian beers. Of course, this wouldn't be a foodie without mentioning the menu selection. There is a selection of quick little bites and bites as well as heavier meal options. This is a great place if you want to relax and enjoy live jazz and a cocktail or if you are looking for lunch or dinner.

Park Restaurant, rated as one of the best restaurants in Bruges, is definitely a place to try. Although it is on the gourmet side and therefore slightly more expensive, I would definitely recommend this place if you want a fancy dinner. Their menu is French/Belgian and they offer a lovely cozy atmosphere, like sitting in a dining room with friends. The friendly staff will also help you choose the wines that best match your meal, so they know their menu very well and what it includes.

This one is for the beer lovers among us. If you consider yourself a beer connoisseur, then you no doubt know that Belgian beer is some of the best in the world. At 'T Brugs Beertje you have some of the tastiest beer around. They offer over 300 different beers, so there's no way you won't find something you like. The staff are very knowledgeable about beer and can recommend anything from their wide selection. While drinking your delicious craft beer, you can also grab a plate of nibbles to nibble on and soak up some of the alcohol (so you can drink more beer, of course).

So this might not be the best place to bring your vegetarian friends as it is a meat feast. With an American BBQ, you'll no doubt come out as a greasy mess, but trust me, that's a good thing! For 18 EUR (22 USD) you can eat all you can. So be sure to come here if you're really hungry. It's a happy atmosphere and decent prices for some of the best barbecue you're likely to find in Belgium. Be sure to check out the ribs, but their steak is also delicious.

Housed in a building that dates back several centuries, the Belgian Pigeon House is not only a great restaurant, but a really cool place to be! The aesthetic of the restaurant is very unique, with old style charm and modern dishes. Of course, the decorative dove theme is found throughout the restaurant. They serve delicious European dishes and grilled food.

If you're serving classic Dutch/Flemish and European dishes, be sure to try the Flemish stew: it's out of this world. The cost is also high as the restaurant is in the city center so it can be on the expensive side, especially when there are lots of tourists around. They have lunches of the day so every time you go it could be something different! For 18 EUR (22 USD) you can get a three-course menu.

You will definitely feel like royalty when you eat here. The elaborate decoration is reminiscent of something you would find in a French château. The food, although quite expensive, is amazing and probably deserves a Michelin star. Definitely check this restaurant out if you love good food and want to impress your friends. 11. Auberge de Herborist - Dine in the garden of endless delights
Bron:Photoby Wikimedia Commons userAnna buffaloused underCC BY-SA 3.0
This excellent restaurant located in an old farmhouse on the outskirts of Bruges can accommodate up to 60 people in four connecting rooms. Chef and owner, Alex Hanbuckers, is a dedicated herbalist who creates his remarkable menus from the bounty of his own herb garden, home to an incredible variety of familiar and some lesser known herbs and vegetables. The meticulous care that goes into each dish is the same attention to detail that goes into the setting itself. What was once a dilapidated 19th century farmhouse has been transformed into a cozy dining room with a sun terrace and plenty of parking. The cuisine is a vegetarian's dream come true with a definite Asian influence, which may surprise you if you're expecting traditional Belgian food. Three days a week, if you can arrange it in advance, you can watch the dishes being prepared with the kitchen staff while one of the chefs explains the 'tricks of the trade'.

This 2 Michelin star restaurant is run by chef Filip Claeys, considered a rock star of the Belgian culinary scene, and his partner Sandra Meirlevede, once an up-and-coming fashion designer. The food served here is anything but mainstream. it's more of an expression of the chef's passion for creating a challenging yet fun dining experience. You can choose from a number of prepared menus with different courses and price ranges. Local produce is key at De Jonkman. 80% of the ingredients used to prepare the exquisite dishes come from Belgium. But that doesn't mean the cuisine here is somehow ordinary. Absolutely far from it! The dishes are very refined and as beautiful to look at as to taste. De Jonkman is definitely recommended during a holiday in Bruges.
